Hey! My name is Mikala, but you might know me as fitbymik! I am a fitness instructor, personal trainer, dancer and aerialist born and raised in Toronto Canada. I have a passion for health and fitness that lead me to a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology, and over a decade of teaching in the fitness industry. Some of the class genres I have taught include Barre Fitness, Strength and Conditioning, Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, Aquafit, dance and gymnastics. I also have years of expertise with one-on-one personal training and fitness coaching. One of my favourite things about this industry is the ability to help others achieve their goals and feel their best!
In between teaching and learning, I spent many years performing as a dancer and aerialist with Norwegian Cruise Line. I also performed as an aerialist at Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan!

Thanks for the reminder of positive self talk. I used to be over 300lbs and know what it's like to know you can't propel yourself off the ground. That feeling crept up... reminding myself how front loaded my weight is... how hard high impact still is.... then I heard you and reminded myself how strong I must be to still do MOST of the jumping, jacks, and high knees.... It was well timed.

I really enjoy your workout. It's burning! Eventhough I did the low impact version.
I was physically active during the pandemic. I was in good shape. But when onsite work returned, I barely did any workout. I'm trying to slowly go back to having a regular routine although it's hard. I find even the simple routines difficult :(
